acing a legal challenge against their suppression of peace protestors. In 2004 Andrew Wood attended the Reed Elsevier annual general meeting, as part of a protest by Campaign Against the Arms Trade (CAAT). Reed Elsevier had then recently become the organiser of DSEi, Europe’s biggest arms fair. After leaving the AGM, Andrew was followed and repeatedly photographed and questioned by police – they even got Underground staff to take his ticket for them, to check his identity. Now CAAT, Liberty and the National Union of Journalists are supporting Andrew in a legal challenge, using the European Convention on Human Rights to get the police behaviour declared illegal. A hearing is expected in 2008.
